Current research focus

At LIPS, we employ a multi-disciplinary approach in our research and focus on information processing in both engineered and biological systems. In particular, utilizing information theory, coding theory, and statistics, we investigate information storage, communication, and processing mechanisms. Engineered systems research at LIPS include the design of resilient, secure, and efficient storage, communications, and information processing algorithms for data center and wireless networks. Biological systems research at LIPS focuses on hippocampus and entorhinal cortex, in particular neural mechanisms and computational principles of memory, spatial navigation, and learning.
